My first key role was playing streetkid 'Mezza', the lead actress in a Channel 7 telemovie called 'Economy Class' by Kevin Carlin and Stephen Luby. I'm mostly known as one of the regulars on Channel 10's 'The Wedge' - playing Sandra Sultry, the newsreader parody and an inappropriate shopping-centre spruiker, but I also co-created, co-wrote and performed alongside the wonderful Curry brothers in the ABC TV comedy series 'Flipside'. I appear as the Nurse in the original 'Saw' short film by Leigh Whannell and James Wan and I've played lead guest roles in a host of Aussie TV shows like 'Wilfred', 'City Homicide', 'All Saints', 'Blue Heelers', 'Prank Patrol' and others. I was a Moosehead Award recipient for the comic two-hander stage play 'Footy Chicks' and a regular cast ensemble member for the weekly ABC 774 Melbourne Radio serial 'The Breakfast Shift'. I won't try to list all the shorts, indie films, corporates, plays, readings, workshops, TVCs, web series, music videos and voice over jobs I've been involved with over the last 30 years or so.. suffice to say there's been a bunch. There's plenty more info on my regular website: katrinamathers.com/actor

I'm also a filmmaker, artist, writer, mum and business owner. I live in St Kilda in Melbourne, Australia in a fabulous rooftop apartment with my fella, dog and daughter. I run a digital media production company called Cherry Hands Media, and I work as a multimedia producer for Monash University in the Education Development Unit. I run a monthly writer's group called Bum Glue Club, and I'm one of the managers of our art studio, 106 Art. I was represented by a fabulous acting agent on and off for over 20 years, but currently I'm freelance. I don't always have time to work an actor, but for an interesting role or ad-hoc days here and there, I'll find it hard to say no, so please always ask! Happy to audition, meet, chat, do self-tapes, playreadings and workshops, or to help others with being a reader for their auditions. I also ran an animation studio for years and I absolutely love doing voiceovers for narrative animation. So definitely call if you need character voices, or straight narration, I do that too and can record from home. I try to keep my Showcast, IMDb and Casting Networks current, but my websites are often a bit out of date because I usually prioritise walking the dog over spending time online, but I'm always around if you want to use me an an actor, is all I'm saying.

Recently I played the lead role of Jackie in an industry screenplay reading of 'Tanked' by Kerry Drumm. Fabulous cast included: Richard Cawthorne, Eliza Matengu, Ruby Duncan, Tim Constantine, Justin Hosking, Reschelle O’Connor, Liam O’Kane, Rhiannon Langeberg and younger actors Ewen Gorman Deeble and Abbie McLeish. I've also been working again with Kerry Drumm as an emsemble actor to develop her new play 'Nok'. Last year I performed in the 'Madwomen Monologues' at The Butterfly Club. I also wrote one of the pieces. I filmed a role for Cam Faull's 'Swiping Right' Series 2. In 2021, I performed in 'Talking in Circles' a Keith Gow play for 'Play Six' (which won Best Production); a reading of Cerise de Gelder's play 'Hostage' and I played Olivia, the mum in Bill Marshall's "The Wild Nights of Youth" which won the Summer Readings Series at Cracked Actors. I play Major Madeline Laughton in the multi-award winning web-series 'Incoming: Words of War' by Kerry Drumm (as an ensemble cast we've picked up several awards and nominations). I've also appeared in a 'Reflex Paper' TVC; received a Best Actor nomination for the Mia'kate Russell short film "Maggie May"; played the depressed mum in the 'Tones & I' music video "Never Seen the Rain" (35m+ views); performed as B.D. Hyman in a rehearsed playreading of "The Last Days of Bette Davis" by Samantha Hill for Antipodes Theatre; appeared in the Fabiana Weiner multi-award winning web series "Help! The Series' and was invited to perform a piece I wrote, called "Holes in my Sunhat" for 'Memoria Podcast'. I've also been an actor for an 'Offspring' director's workshop; in a play called 'Doug Holcombe' at the Owl and the Cat, directed by Kieran Carroll; acted in various VCA and indie shorts, done a few VOs, taken US accent classes and the fabulous Greg Apps' Audition Technique course.
